I would use the Match Move behavior to track the fish so the image will move with the fish. Hope this helps and best of luck.

That is true, but they lowered the price so it is cheaper if you are a new user to buy FCPX, Motion & Compress. Then it was to purchase Final Cut Studio 2.

It comes included with the FCP Studio bundle.
If you are on FCPX then go to the timeline and click the Retiming button and select Conform Speed.
You want to go from 60fps to what ever your working frame rate is such as 29.97.

Yes, you lost the ability to do the Animation codec. One of many reasons why I’m still on Motion 4.
I believe, but I’m not sure, you have more codec options in Compressor which you can send your Motion project to. I’m assuming someone on that version will clarify this.

Yes, optical flow struggles with certain shoots, such as shoots with really thin lines in it. And optical flow is really good for super slow mo shots. For the footage shot at 60 fps you can slow it down to half speed no problem. For the 30 fps stuff not so much.
60fps footage: You will need to conform your 60fps in Cinema Tools. It does a great job. Be forewarned that it conforms your original clip. It doesn’t make a copy. If you need to keep your original keep that in mind.
30fps: If Optical Flow doesn’t work then I would just play with the other frame blending options.

For best and free I would use Motion’s amazing Optical Flow. Select clip, go to Properties tab, Timing, Frame Blending: choose Optical Flow. It does an amazing job but take a while to do it’s magic.Stephen Smith
