For my Italy Time lapse video each time lapse was about 5 seconds x 24 frames = 120 frames. However I did a lot of time lapses and the amount of pictures I took really added up. At night 5 seconds would take me about an hour during the day 5 to 20 minutes.

As for the Light Leak template I built in Motion, I only built it as a template so people could alter the light leak if they wanted to. What you do is take the video and place it above your clip in FCP and add a Screen or Add blend mode to the Light Leak clip or project file and it give it the look just like in my Italy Time lapse video.
