Check out your local community collage…I’m sure they offer lots of classes in “digital cinema” or whatever they want to call it.

Also, a great way to learn is to do an internship.

[Chris] Probably could be done with Adobe Flash now.

Yes it can be done on flash. It even has / had a feature to export out your project to a CD-ROM. I made one back in collage with Flash MX and I’ve never touched flash since. We did all of our CD authoring in Macramedia director.

As for the Auto run on a windows. It is a simple line of code that you can copy into a text document. As recommended Google it. There was a way to do it on a mac but I recall it was really hard. I haven’t done one of these in 10 years. Best of luck.

If you want salary trends I would recommend talking to someone in your local area. Salary is very different depending on your location. You will make a lot more in NYC then in Salt Lake City. Plus by interviewing someone local you can get a great contact that could help you find a job close to home. I would think of this as a lot more then a “home work” assignment and as an opportunity to further your career by meeting someone close face to face.

I think you will be very happy with AE and/or Motion. I use both and the UI is very similar. So if you learn one you will find jumping into the other is not a nightmare. You already own Motion so you might as well play around in it and see what you think. Best of luck.
