They can coexist, When you install Motion 5 it will move all of the FCS apps into a Final Cut Studio Folder. So it may look like you lost them…they have just been re-located. Your FCS app icons will remain in your dock like nothing happened.

The advantage is I can get used to the new interface for the price of a few pizzas and just export as a movie and drop into FCP 7.

The ability to round trip is what got me interested in Motion in the first place. Exporting out my projects doesn’t sound nice to me. I don’t think Motion is the problem, I just think FCPX is missing some key features that FCP7 has. When I get time to breath I’ll start playing around with it on my personal computer.

Seeing as how you had your hands on Motion well before Tuesday I would say that I would trust your guess on what will and will not happen at Apple in regards to Motion. Any idea on when it will come?

I love to edit in FCP. Then I select the clips I want to work with in Motion and do Send To Motion. Then I add my graphics and Motion and then just return to FCP and there it is. I’m not happy about the missing “Send To Motion” feature.
