Excellent. Thank you so much. Stupid question: once I’ve downloaded the codec, what’s the next step so that I can export ProRes from Premiere?

Everything’s on two externals. Reading the Scarlet footage natively at 4K HD 3840 x 2160.

Yep. Sounds like we’re in the same boat. Today, just to experiment, I created a brand new project on this ridiculously overpowered new system, pulled in a clip and a .wav file, played them just fine separately and then watched the audio die away about 5 seconds in both the timeline and source monitor.

It’s so frustrating. I’ve got a feature to cut and I may have just put down $2200 on a new system for nothing. Maybe there’s a hero out there somewhere…

I understand what you’re asking for, but if I were to send you just a Premiere project wouldn’t you also need the original media? So you need a) the Premiere project with synched clip, b) the original R3D file, and c) the original .wav file, and all I’m saying is that I’m not sure how to get such a big file to you.

Sorry, not really set up to share several gigs of media at the moment. These are big files. What if I just sent you a .wav and you could see if it drops out when played alongside 4K footage? Could you send me your e-mail address?

Oops, sorry. No Third Party cards. The system is straight out of the box and freshly built, with only the GeForce card.

The audio plays just fine by itself.

Assuming I should just export the pic/audio clip as it’s own R3D, how should I get it to you? Apologies, I’m new to dealing with RED footage and also new to Merging Clips internally.

Thanks, Jon. Ended up exporting an UC AVI for safety. And everything has worked fine since then, so… We shall see. Backing up every way I can/can afford, though, for sure.
