In Case of Emergency – Exporting HD Locked Picture for Safety
Hello-
Long story short, I just locked picture on an HD feature and was about to open Premiere to export a Quicktime file for my sound designer when my 3-month-old Seagate 1.5T hard drive would “turn on” but not turn on, and the computer wouldn’t read it. In other words, it seemed to more or less be brain dead. All of my footage is on this drive. After 3 failed attempts, I changed the position of the drive and it came on, and now I’m wondering – while I’ve got it working and considering that I’d absolutely hate to deal with a crash here at the end – what might be the best way to get my locked picture onto my computer, separate from my footage. Should I export as a P2 file, Windows Media, MPEG-2? All I want to do is insure that I’ve got my picture if this drive were ever to crash permanently.
Thanks for whatever advice you can pass along.
Best,
Stephen
