I havn’t got it in front of me, but from memory it dosn’t create a file for each field, AE will only create 1 file per frame.

So you should still import the image sequence at the same frame rate. 30 in your case.

But you can right click on the image sequence in the project window and select interperate footage to change frame rates and field orders if you need to.

I recommend a program call Carbon Copy Cloner, there is a setting in it to make it backup to a disk image. You can then use it to copy back off the disk image when you do your restore.

I have seen something like this before, and I cannot remember exactly what I did.

But try things like saving to another drive.
Or, copy all your clips and sequences and such into another project inside the browser window. Create a new project file, drag it’s tab off the browser window so that it becomes its own browser window, then drag all your assets from the old project to the new one. Then try and save the new project.

That’s all I can remember trying.

I’m not sure what you mean in this question.

You can mirror the main screen, this will display the same image on both screens. Or depending on your hardware you can use extended desktop, which treats the the two screens as one big screen.

Take a look in Display pane of System Preferences.

Sounds very video RAM to me, which suggest video card. If you boot from an installer CD, (Don’t install the system), do you get the same problem, if so then it’s most likey the video card, with a slim outside change it’s the logic or CPU cards, but I would be very supprised if it was ether of those.

Is it possible you are using the reminder part of Entourage, Eg. A little window pops up telling you that your late for an appointment.

Try booting in with extensions off, might even be called “safe mode”. Now your going to call me stupid and say that MacOS X dosn’t have extensions like MacOS 9.

Holding down shift at startup, in exactly the same way you did in MacOS 9, prevents MacOS from loading kernal extesnions and such, I think it also prevents any startup items from starting. This might allow you to move the files. Otherwise there is single user mode (expert), or try things like duplicating the files first.
