Hi Tom,
I am having a problem with Preview Disabled also.
I am running FCP7.0 on a Mac Book Pro.
I am using a Sony deck DSR25 with firewire going to a LaCie external and then to the MBP. (The MBP only has one 800 firewire ;-( and therefore I have to loop through the external, which I want to use for the scatch anyhow.

I am stumped. I have trashed and repaired, reinstalled and it is still not giving a preview although the deck is operated by Capture controls.

What do you suggest. (It is weird that so many posts are here on this subject and yet I can’t find a fix for this or find out what went south on the Preview.)

I have the same issue. Did you solve your Preview Disabled in Log and Capture?
Can someone please advise the workaround or solution?
