  • Hello Todd,
so you confirm no native stereoscopic editing?
The suggested workflow for 3d is still in conjunction with Cineform?

    Thank you

  • No native stereoscopic editing????

    🙁

Still stucked with buggy (but 3d friendly) Vegas Pro??

    :-((((

Please tell me that there will be other ways than Cineform for a steroscopic workflow in CS6!! (even because Speedgrade is a wonderful 3d finishing tool!)

    Dan,
    I feel the same way…
I need couple of that for a big job in december, on tech specs on BM site and manuals there is no mention about lack of SD.

    From the site:

SD Format Support 625/25 PAL, 525/29.97 NTSC.

Plus, on the release notes of 2.0 fw

    What’s new in ATEM 2.0

    • New Standard Definition Video Formats.
    • General performance and stability improvements.

So… it was there in 2.0 and not in 2.6??

Please BM, I have to know if I can use this switchers in a month from now for my work or if I have to return it back…

    Best Regards

    Stefano

    Hello,
    any hint on this?
I know that from 2.0 software the mixer is supposed to be compatible with SD.

    Please BM say something… 🙂

    Thank you

    Thank you Chris,
it’s a pity that this funcionality is no longer supported on Windows, it was very very useful and it would be with VJ’s softwares that only support secondary monitors as output

    Hello Michael,
thanks for your suggestions; this is the way I work too, but scopes for both eyes would be a big help…
but… I think Vegas 10.0d is too unstable when working in 3D!!
    Sony claims compatibility with Cineform codecs, but when I work with it there a lot of strange things happen;
-a lot of time the preview of a channel (or both ) became black and I have to restart Vegas to fix it,
-If I apply a Media FX on Cineform clips playback is totally screwed up, but it’s OK if I apply the same effect on event instead of media…
    – If I copy and paste a cineform event from another project with an event fx Vegas crash everytime, if I delete the fx it’s OK

    plus

No nesting possibilities in 3D, no way to “un-pair” stereoscopic subclips for a further sync adjustment, a lot of crash any time I work with 3d adjustment plug in, multicam editing is not so crash free too…

I think Vegas has the best 3D workflow compared to other NLEs (I think that the possibility to apply any effect only in left or right or both is fantastic), but I’m seriously thinking about a switch to Premiere because of the feeling I have of “half baked” features…

What is your workflow? Do you use Cineform as DI for 3D?

Yes, I’ve made a 3D BR of a 5 min. trailer, but there was no transitions at all, the 3D ajustments seems to be OK.

    Thank you

    Stefano
