My feelings exactly..every time i open a project in the latest premiere pro version it is like a crapshoot as to when it will freeze or crash..

this is the first time premiere has ever given me any problems..usually rock solid for the last 10 years..

at this point all future projects i start will be in premiere pro CC and not the Prem pro CC 2014 version…

thanks and good luck going forward!

thanks for the suggestion..but ideally would love to get Prem Pro to work properly!!

i generally, to stay safe, will make some copies of the projects as i go along..some of the projects wont even load up all the media..it just hangs on the media load and i have force it shut..while the copy of the project that has the exact same media loads just fine…

    maddening!!

Reloaded Quicktime..did not make much difference!
    thanks

I am aware that they are not backwards compatible..
just wanted to make a point that my setup runs Prem Pro CC flawlessly and the Premiere Pro 2014 is a problem as described in first post of this thread.

    thanks

    OK..problem partially solved…

i generally run all my projects on one of my USB 3.0 portable drives so i can move from home to office and back seamlessly..my two machines are configured exactly the same…

after reading the error message again i decided to try and render the QT file to my c or d drive which are the built in drives and then I had no problem..all rendered perfectly…
when i try to render to any of my 3 USB drives…then i get the error message..but i do not get the error message with any other render except QT file output..if i try to render an AVI file it has no problem rendering to the removeable drive…

so at least i have a workaround and can continue my project..
i will continue to try and see why QT is a problem..

    thanks for your efforts here!!

no real changes to the OS…

I have go pro installed..i will try uninstalling that…but first..

i will try disabling all the anti virus and firewall software and let you know if that makes a difference..i think i updated the antivirus software Avast.

    thanks

    QT version = 7.7.1
    AE CC version = 12.2.1.5

and CS 6 does not render..

I actually have CS6, CC and CC2014 all installed and none can render it…
this seems to have started only since I loaded the Creative Cloud suite..when i had CS6 alone all was good…

    i appreciate your help..

    One more thing to add..

this problem started with the installation of AE CC…
when i had AE CS6 it did not have this problem..

thanks for any information that may help here..
