I am having the hardest time since i installed the latest Prem pro update.
    I am running a Win 7 64 with 32GB RAM

the version of Prem i have now is 8.1 Caravan

I have created a project with some basic AVI clips and when i go to export, the export screen comes up entirely white…this same behaviour happens also at times when i call up the preferences or even when i try to save…
the pref window and sometimes the save window are white and then i have to close down premiere forcibly.

I have a Nvidia GEForce 670 and have updated the drivers and still get this behaior..doesnt happen all the time but it does happen enough to totally mess with my workflow..

    any ideas?
    Thanks
    Stan

    PPro projects aren’t backwards compatible.

I am aware that they are not backwards compatible..
just wanted to make a point that my setup runs Prem Pro CC flawlessly and the Premiere Pro 2014 is a problem as described in first post of this thread.

    thanks

might update your quicktime or look into any odd quicktime codec components.

seems issues like this are are some times related to quicktime.

Ah, I follow you now. If you are really stuck you could try exporting from 2014 as an XML and importing that into 2013.

thanks for the suggestion..but ideally would love to get Prem Pro to work properly!!

i generally, to stay safe, will make some copies of the projects as i go along..some of the projects wont even load up all the media..it just hangs on the media load and i have force it shut..while the copy of the project that has the exact same media loads just fine…

    maddening!!

Reloaded Quicktime..did not make much difference!
    thanks

I am also having great difficulties with PPRO 8.1
We shoot with various Panasonic cameras and record avc intra 100 60i.
I am experiencing similar problems as the others in this thread.
Timeline freezes and I cannot save. I have to go to task manager to get out of the program. No third party plug-ins.
I did use warp stabilizer on one clip. I have done a lot of color correction at the clip level. I am viewing at one quarter quality in my program viewer.
This morning I noticed that PPro froze when I was resizing timeline view.
I am planning to try to save an edl or xml list from my current projects and open in PPRO CC.

I have been a firm believer in all thing Adobe since photoshop 4.0.
Unfortunately, this is the first update of any Adobe product that has stopped me cold in my tracks. As things stand, I cannot edit.
This update should never have been made available.
I hope Adobe takes this situation very seriously. I have to explain to my supervisor this morning, why my projects are now held up.

My feelings exactly..every time i open a project in the latest premiere pro version it is like a crapshoot as to when it will freeze or crash..

this is the first time premiere has ever given me any problems..usually rock solid for the last 10 years..

at this point all future projects i start will be in premiere pro CC and not the Prem pro CC 2014 version…

thanks and good luck going forward!

    Hi Stan,
See this post and see if works for you: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/959495
It has assisted other editors on Windows with NVIDIA GPUs.

    Thanks,
