The files at issue are not the .psd files; they are the asset/timeline or other files.

mp3 files may have metadata or other info that can cause problems. Some may work; some not. But they are not a good idea for menu audio.

Can you confirm that the mp3 names were short and without special characters? I want to be more confident that it was the mp3 files themselves. I’ll try to test whether some mp3’s work and other don’t.

Edit: Also, I missed that this was a flash build. Did you get the same error for a DVD/BD build if attempted?

This error has nothing to do with PS version.

If at build, it is most often file names/paths too long or with problem characters (semicolon; ampersand by some reports spaces – go figure). While length alone just needs to be 80 or under, there are reports of fixes that reduced smaller names.

Audio should work in preview, but, yes, you really don’t know what you have till you test a disk/image build.

You are creating audio gaps in the timeline by adding stills in the same timeline. This can affect audio and other issues.

While you can add multiple items to Encore timelines, it increases the risk of problems.

    > this is real easy.

How can anything be easier than taking that image and scaling to a thumbnail location in photoshop?

Are you talking about adding an image in the Encore timeline?

I believe that multipage menus share the background and all that goes with it. You are only adding buttons, etc in subsequent pages.

  • Excellent!

  • Yes, “run as.” If that is it, you can set it to do that always. With Encore, it is a good idea whether doing du al layer or not. But it has been a deal breaker for dual layer.

  • Be sure you run “as administrator” (for PC). Not sure what you call it on Mac. This is different than running under an account with administrative rights.

Inside Encore, “import as timeline,” and select the m2v and a3c. The xmp and xmpses files are sidecar files that carry information such as chapter markers.

A good option to check, James. I was wondering about overrides, but I can’t figure what override would produce that scenario.
