    There’s a fully restored 1957 Triumph TR3 on Ebay for $18K!

How about this: Rode NTG-2, Rycote Softie, and Rycote Pistol Grip for $500?

Or I could just buy the Sennheiser ME66/K6 for $460.

Ty – I would listen to your audio files, but I’m at home on dial-up right now! I’ll have a much faster connection tomorrow at work.

  • Which jib would you recommend for my Panasonic DVX100? Is there a cheaper jib out there with pan/tilt movement?

Are there any negative opinions of Altman’s out there?

Thanks a lot for the feedback Frank. The more research I’ve done, the more comfortable I’ve become with the Altman kits. They seem to be a decent middle ground between Arri and Lowel. And without a doubt the price fits my budget perfectly (although I’m sure my wife would vote for the $800 Lowel kit!).

    Thanks again.

  • I just got your DVD in the mail three days ago. I love it. Very informative! Highly recommend!

“The imminent release of other titles from Creative Cow” means you’re working on new training DVDs?

Bummer – I was hoping for the AE version of PI at NAB.

I’m guessing we’ll see something at NAB in April.

    Just a guess.

Good grief – the neatest service center is in Dallas, TX, which is a 12 hour car ride from where I live. I guess I could ship it to them, huh?

This is such a bummer. I use the handle zoom all the time.

January 24, 2006 at 7:48 pm in reply to: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 + Motion?

I just talked to an Apple dealer here in town – he said that the 7800 is not available … it’s only BTO.

What a drag. With my old PC I was used to ordering parts whenever and wherever I pleased, always shopping around for the best deal. But not with Apple. The Apple dealer told me that the 7800 would probably cost $500. Newegg.com sells it for $300.

I typed “7800GT” into newegg.com’s search engine – came up with 25 different brands, all around $300. Does it matter which one I choose? I don’t know a whole lot about video cards. Plus I’m a “newbie” on the Mac!

    Thanks for the help George.
