BTW – I have the Dell 24″ widescreen monitor. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I’m confused. Why would I need the FW bus card if I purchased the Powerbook? Doesn’t the Powerbook already come with FW?

Thanks debe! That was very helpful advice. Much appreciated!

I’m crossing over from Adobe PPro & Encore. The company I work for has decided to buy me a PowerMac dual 2.3 GHz G5 for here in the office, but I’d like another Mac for home and/or for when I’m on the road. I’d like for my home/travel Mac to be powerful enough to capture video and do a little editing when need be, but most of the heavy editing and effects will be done on the PowerMac G5.

Thanks for the quick responses! I’ll look into the Powerbook some more – mobility would be nice.

Phil – does your Powerbook have the DDR2 RAM?

Nope – no motion menu. For the menu I actually altered one of the PSD menu examples that came with the Encore 1.0 CD. Could that be the problem???

The Encore file, Photoshop menu, and AVI’s are on my internal G: drive. The Encore software itself is on my main C: drive.

Codec? I really don’t remember. I exported them as AVI files from Premiere Pro 1.5. Does that help?

    Thanks!

It’s just a five minute promo video, so I’ll try that setting. Do you know, will I be able to import this file into Encore (I’m not sure what the difference is between CBR and VBR. Also – what’s the difference between 1 Pass & 2 Pass?

Is it odd that my PP 1.5 doesn’t have the NTSC DV High Quality 4Mb VBR 2 Pass option???

    Thanks.
