Hi Chris, I’ll ask them, but I doubt they will accept in 60i. I have a choice to either take it to a post house who will handle it w hardware, albeit for a price… I’m looking to do this myself and my research has led me to believe that virtualdub + avisynth is my solution for 60i to 50i conversion (and a decent one too at that!).. I need some help with this however, any vdub experts here that can guide me? Or any other options? Thanks!

Hi Angelo, thanks so much for your responses, your feedback has already helped me learn tremendously! One query, I see that despite installing the avid dnx codec, and selecting as the codec of choice with a mov container, the actual encoder is still the premiere’s native encoder; is this encoder fine to use? Are there 3rd party encoders? Thanks

They are not grading, or doing anything with captioning, they are just laying the digital files , syncing it with the audio files (HDCAM SR), and then laying it out to HDCAM SR.. I’m wondering what would be the best way to get the files encoded on my end, with the least, if any loss of quality.. i will def ask the post house what they prefer but I thought i’d post here to educate myself a bit with all the knowledge:) appreciate the response.
