Well, I’ll give you the specs of my desktop and maybe that’ll give you an idea.
Intel i7-4970k @3.6ghz
Nvidia Geforce GT 730
12gb of ram
Win 10 64 bit
So the graphics card isn’t really a major thing when it comes to After Effects, but if you’re going to be using something like Element 3D or Premiere Pro, you might want to keep a decent card at least. Other than that, my desktop was $600 at Costco. Cheers!\”It\’s all around us Neo, temporary constructs of time…..\”

You’re better off starting a new thread about that.

Maybe a bit of fractal noise could also help, for maybe some sort of swirling vortex effect…

Yes, what effects are you exactly referring to?……..*brofist*

Yeah, that might be some 3D involved, so maybe C4D or Maya or whatever you want to use. If all else fails, the closest you can get to making that without 3D might be trapcode particular, but again, depends on you…

May 17, 2016 at 3:31 pm in reply to: How to create environment maps for my simple video footageWell, I believe there are apps on the app store and play store that do this for you. Just move your camera around with the app and then the app should save it, then transfer the map to your computer and it should be good to go.

Well, um, I don’t know if that is very practical, though yes, you could convert your footage to something else that would be easier for AE to track/render, but again, it depends.

Well, I’m not aware of such an option built into the tracker as of right now, but you could just split the layer where you want the tracking to end and just track that part of the footage.

So what programs would that be?

Ahh NFKRZ…….anyway, I would think you can turn the text into a 3D layer and animate the camera to make it seem the text is coming towards the camera in however fashion you want, and just add motion blur, maybe some fast blur if needed. Really it’s up to you. Oh, and maybe a glow. I think there’s a bit of a glow there. Going to assume you’re not a Pyro fan…..XD. For the old VHS glitching look, just look up a VHS look or use VideoCopilot’s Twitch to make it seem to glitch. If you don’t have the plugin there should be some tutorials for “glitching text”.
