I hate to see such a simple question go unanswered.
I did this with just the “Stage Lights” emitter from the “Default” library.
Altering the size and color palette and even the particle shape helps too.
But that is a fine starting point since it’s a “line” emitter. Try using a few different versions with different color schemes, shapes, etc. and expand from there.
I hope that helps.
Peace (and Festive Solstice!)

Sorry to “Double Post” but I could find no way to edit!
You said “Window Blinds” and I never used that program, but have experience with another Stardock program called Desktop X Builder.
In that software Alpha Transparency does not work. It uses what they call “Magic Pink” (rgb values 255,000,255) for it’s “Transparent Index” – if Window Blinds works similarly, that could be the problem (I only noticed you said it worked outside of WB after I posted!). Use those values for the background color and see what happens.
Good Luck with it…

Ummm…
Did you check the “Save Alpha” box?
Alpha Channel = Transparency.
Hope that helps.

This question raises an issue I was going to save for a giant list of suggestions for future features – a Screensaver output option!
I have tried several screen saver makers, and I have never gotten acceptable results with things made in Particle Illusion.
I can render beautiful image sequences, and avi files, but somehow compiling into a screensaver blurs all the sharp lines and makes for an unprofessional and inferior product (I tried lots of variants ranging from oversized resolutions to 60 frames per second frame rates) (and with the “Preserve color” box checked, and not checked).
If there were a way to make scrensavers directly from Particle Illusion which did not lose image quality, it would be Incredible!
Good luck getting the effect you want, and if you find a program that can take PI output and produce a High Quality, Detailed, screen saver, please post the information here!
I have a mac, running os9, but have no clue about the effect you are seeking.
Sorry if that was off topic, but it seemed relevant to me…

November 9, 2007 at 5:14 pm in reply to: How make the text remain after the emitter effectNot sure on lighting effects in Particle Illusion, but you could make the logo a single particle emitter and have it begin where the animated one ends. That should provide a smooth transition.
If it fits your project, it could also be set as a background image which does not appear until the appropriate time, but that may not work in all cases.
Hope that helps.
Good luck with it
Peace.

I would just make the image a particle (checking the “single particle” option) and treat it as any other emitter. Move it at will along the timeline.
You may be able to use layer offset too… I need to experiment with that feature more!
Maybe someone else has a better answer, but that should work.
MOO!

This tutorial on Disintegrating things may be helpful:
https://library.creativecow.net/articles/deane_elvis/disintegratePeople.php
Just change the particles to meet your need (smoky and rising instead of blobby and falling) and it should work.
I hope that helps.
Peace.

October 3, 2007 at 9:37 am in reply to: Loss of clarity and increase in size when exporting to PNGSorry if this is off-topic, but I have noticed this bug, and exploited it to get some great Pop-Art effects!
I don’t suppose the bug fix includes the option to set the dpi manually, so I can reproduce this when desired?
If not, I’ll just keep my old version around for when I want this look.
I never reported it as a bug because it is not consistent here, or maybe I was not doing the same sequence of stuffs…
Regardless, it can be made to create some interesting effects if handled properly!
Just a thought.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Try renaming the lot to “pic001” to “pic013” as sometimes the transition from “pic9” to “pic10” has translation problems!
At least in other software.
I have never had the problem you describe in Particle Illusion, but I have seen this in other sequence-importing software.
I’m no expert, nor am I the support staff, so I hope that helps.
Good luck with it.
Peace.

Thanks for the quick response!
I had a bit of a bump in the e-river getting the payment processed, but 3.01a is installed and running and I just wrote to support about beta testing.
I think I will be wasting Lots of time with this program.
I hope I don’t waste too much of your time with dumb questions.
Speaking of wasting time with your program…
I guess I’ll go make some stuffs!
Peace.
