    Thanks for the response. I’ll have a look at 3D Stroke and see how I get on with it.

    Hi,
    I’m getting the exact same error message in After Effects 7 at the moment and I’m using Windows XP SP2. Here’s exactly what it says…

    After Effects error: an unspecified AVI or DirectShow error occured. (1)

    (53 :: 33)

    I get the error when trying to import footage, I’ve tried different mpg and Hi def footage and still get the message. I can still import wmv and Quicktime footage though.

    Also, I was working on some 3D the other night, went to move the camera on the Y-axis and, again, kept getting the error message, although I can’t remember if it was the same error as the one above. I think it said something about OpenGL.

    I’ve de-installed After Effects, run CCleaner to get rid of any remnants of it. Then re-installed but keep getting the error.

    I then installed After Effects onto my laptop which also runs Windows XP SP2 and tried importing the same mpg and Hi-def footage as I had tried on my desktop and, voila, it worked!

    So, any ideas what the problem is?

    My system is

    Intel Quad Core Q6600
    4Gb Corsair 6400 DDR2 RAM
    Asus P5K Deluxe Motherboard
    Nvidia 7800 GTX Graphics Card
    Windows XP Sp2

    I also have a dual monitor set-up which I only got recently. Could that be the problem? Never had this problem with AE before.
