Yes, my 2016 had (and still has) terrible overheating issues. I think I was able to stagger along with my short form edits, but I expect my latest projects are just making more demand of the Mac.

It’s interesting to learn that the software upgrades have the new chips in mind, I suppose I better go shopping for a new Mac 😁

I’m using a 2019 MBP – 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

And these are the cards/graphics cards in it

– AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB

– Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

It seems to be worse when using ProRes 422 materials (vs H264).

I also expect it is a graphics card problem as it gets worse as I edit, and as my machine heats up…

This marks the whole clip, so I use a workaround by hitting X to mark the entire clip, and then I to mark my in – it’s an extra keystroke, but still pretty quick!
