    Hello All.

Is there a way to change the automated adding of in/out points in Davinci Resolve 18 edit page?

What I mean by this is, when I hit “i” or “o” to mark my timeline/clip, it will automatically place the opposite point at the very end or very beginning of the timeline. So, if I press “i”, it sets an out point at the very end of my entire timeline.

Is there a way to set it so that when I mark my in, it sets the out at the end of the clip (or not at all)? Conversely, if I set an “o” point, it automatically highlights ands set the in at the top of the clip, not the top of the whole timeline.

    Thanks!

‘X’ marks just the clip that your cursor is parked at.

    Thanks Neil.
This marks the whole clip, so I use a workaround by hitting X to mark the entire clip, and then I to mark my in – it’s an extra keystroke, but still pretty quick!

Visually, i agree, it is a bit odd to mark an out at the end of the timeline, but from a realistic “working” standpoint, it has no effect on your ability to mark an in point here…play or scrub to another spot, and mark an out point. Not sure a “workaround” is really necessary.
