Okay, well. A collegue of mine figured it out. I’m leaving this here in case anyone ever needs this information.
If you Seperate Dimensions on the Position and also activate 3D on that layer, the indices kind of make sense again–”Position” is index 2, which disappears when you seperate Dimensions, which are 3,4,5.

On your notice, Filip, I went looking. Here’s the official documentation:

In After Effects 16.0, posterizeTime(0) freezes the property value at time 0 in the composition. This applies to both the JavaScript and Legacy ExtendScript engines.

Note, also:

This is not backward-compatible and may cause unexpected results in After Effects versions prior to 16.0.

The time difference Nick demonstrated is absolutely incredible. This is amazing for templating.

Whoops. I just figured it out myself. Seems like i set it up wrong.

Basically, I had a few hidden Slider Controls inside a hidden group. The double-hidden setup seemed to be the problem. Once I removed the “invisible” property from the actual Slider Controls, it all worked fine.

EDIT: Whoops again. The Slider Controls are hidden in the effects panel, but visible in the timeline, once you do the “u u” shortcut.
Anyone still up for this?

Hey, me again – I’ve been out of town and only got around to test the code snippet as provided.
Now, trying to include my own ffx, I failed with converting ffx to binary.
Any help with that? Extendscript’s Convert to Binary doesn’t seem to help, and the only alternative I’ve stumbled upon is this script (https://aescripts.com/file-to-binary-converter/) for sale at aescripts. Seems a bit of stretch for a seemingly simple problem.

Thanks a lot for your clear and detailed response.
That actually is quite a lot of pain, wow. Sounds like a few frustrating hours of work.
I guess I’ll just have to work without fancy Pseudo Effects then.

I’ve actually used that plugin before – either I’m missing something or I didn’t phrase my request correctly, sorry.
Is there a way to create a Pseudo Effect from within a script, like you would add an effect? like: mySolid.property("Effects").addProperty("ADBE Slider Control")
