    Oh ok, I’m on CS4 at the moment so I’ll convert the clips to mpeg 2 then. Hopefully we’re upgrading to CS5 shortly though.

    Thanks for all the help! Really appreciate it,

    Simon 🙂

    oh yeah sorry that was a type it’s 1920 x 1080.

    The footage was shot on a Canon 5D2 and is a quicktime file .mov

    My project settings are;

    General
    Editing mode: Desktop
    Timebase 30.frames/second
    Frame size: 1920 x 1080
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pxels (1.0)
    Fields: No Fields (progessive scan)

    Video Rendering
    Maximum bit depth box is unchecked
    File format: Video for Windows
    Compressor: Blackmagix 8bit MPEG Codec

    I also realised that even if I scrub through the footage the red bar along the top doesn’t go green at any point so it seems like it won’t preview any of the footage.

    I hope that’s enough information, and I appreciate you taking the time to help me out 🙂

    Sorry one more question, when you say encode for dvd what format should I be encoding it to for a standard dvd player. I’ve seen a few answers all over the internet some saying .vob, .iso or mpeg-2 so i’m a bit lost now!

    Thanks very much
