If your repair your disc, you with discutil, you shouldn’t lose anything, unless techtool messed something up…

  • Please tell me you backed up your stuff… if not put a big note on your forehead and make sure you do from now on…

Where in the tech tool optimization did you stop it… and what will your computer do and what won’t it do, is it just you can’t access files or is it more then that?

Try booting from the system disc and verifying the disc, don’t repair permissions this will completely screw you up…

My guess is you screwed your catalog file up and it needs to be rebuilt, and if this is the case you want to do that before you make to many changes to HD files… Discutil should be able to do this…

September 8, 2006 at 4:41 am in reply to: Is OSX 10.4.7 solid?

This is the world of computers, whether you have problems or not has more to do with your system and how your stuff works together then anything else. Which has a lot to do with the fact that programmers only understand the interactions in 100 lines of code, and most software today is well over that… so one gets unexpected results… and therefor makes your question impossible to answer, in a truly meaningful way…

And no I have not had problems with 10.4.7… but that says very little about the issue of whether you will…

Did you look into just getting the logic board and installing it yourself… which is certainly not for everyone…

The easiest way is if you have grouped them in a null object select the null right click and say select children deselect the null, grab the scale tool and have fun…

Have you run hardware test, you may be having a problem with bad ram… or some other hardware difficulty…

I’d try that and see what that tells you…

What kind of file is it?

    https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106712

the sudo rm command will get rid of the file…. but be careful with it, you can destroy all your data since it is a root user command…
