Macpro C2D with 4gig.. FCP 5.1.4 and decklink extremeHD.. No problems here.. all working fine eventually.

Agree. For critical SD monitoring you should still be using an CRT.
One option is the JVC19 that does HD and SD.

You can run a extremeHD card in a 1x slot and it will capture upto 720P 60 in 8bit. As we found out :-/
Using the number 2 config in the expansion slot utility should suffice. Both cards require x4.
It should work. If you remove one card and the other is happy in it’s given slot its a card conflict so would suggest as above. Get the latest drivers and firmware.

Are you monitoring for editing offline or online or quality control ? Colour Grading? Graphics?

Ah.. hmm. With a 2.66 coreduo 2 and 4gig can we not have an opion in the driver to turn this on with a warning? There are plenty of other options to cause dropped frames. So it would be good to have the option. Otherwise I’m going to have to stump for another monitor. A 30″ is plenty. I’d rather not fil the raid with uncompressed footage.
