HD-SD monitoring via DVI
I’m looking an advice about Multibridge Extreme monitoring. I’m from argentina and i couldn’t test HD SD monitoring via DVI. My question is simple how is the quality?
I’m working in different projects and if i have to divide my work a half of it is in SD an the rest is in HD. For this reason I’d like to know the monitoring quality in SD. I know HDLINK was made for HD monitoring but I read different advices where the people say that they use in SD. i’d like to know about these experiences.To conclude if I have to make a comparison between SD monitoriing via DVI and SD monitoring in CRT, What are the differences? these are so big or is acceptable?

Are you monitoring for editing offline or online or quality control ? Colour Grading? Graphics?

Some projects are online but the most are motion graphics.
I’d like to know which is the limit.Thanks

Hello,
The monitoring of a SD image on a LCD such as the Dell, Apple LCD monitors is really bad. I still use a CRT for SD work and colour corrections.

Hi Federico,
As with HDLink, the DVI output of Multibridge Extreme is primarily for HD monitoring. I would still suggest using a CRT for SD monitoring for best display of interlacing and any field flicker issues. If you are working in both HD and SD, you can use the DVI output of Multibridge Extreme with an Apple, Dell, Sony or HP display (23″ or 24″) for full resolution HDTV montitoring while also using a CRT connected to the analog outputs of the Multibridge Extreme for your SD monitoring. That will give you the best of both worlds.

Agree. For critical SD monitoring you should still be using an CRT.
One option is the JVC19 that does HD and SD.
