  • That was with Avid MC Ultimate, thank you for mentioning about mimiq

  • Thank you, but the filtering were all unchecked

  • Thank you Tod Hopkins, when you say a TV as a data display monitor- is it because of the connection? The connection is also HDMI (which is an industry standard and coming from PCiE card- approved by mac), whereas the BMD or AJA is also connected via thunderbolt and the output is still hdmi or sdi feeding the standard monitors.

Yes you are right, we have traditional video editing and also non standard internet media editing within the same suite, which makes our different clients (students) confusing to see, one format is available on the monitors via BMD but the other non standard formats is not available to view (unless I hook up the TV straight from mac as an extended display and from adobe route the playback monitor to this extended monitor)

thanks a lot for a detailed reply.. 🙂

  • HI Bret,

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated, but as far as I know with Blackmagic devices, it only works with specific resolutions and all are 16/9, none of them were 9/16? could you please let me know , with what 9/16 sequence settings you were able to produce output on a monitor? and which monitor? via hdmi/sdi? once again thanks

  • hi,

this is how its been done now, but besides doing this extra bit as a work around wanted to know why its happening.

So if they put the file on NTSC timeline itself nd then export in PAL? Wl tht do?

Any hardware comversion will be time consuming as i blv it wil take real time.

    Any other options? Compressor?

    Thanks

[shinoj Krishnan] ” i am exporting using quick time conversion on FCP with the settings (but problem is only 2 tracks),”
If you export with QT Conversion, you will get only 2 audio channel, but if you export a self contained movie and then convert with QT, you can keep all the audio channels.

(shinoj)im doing this qt conversion so that harris can accept it, but wl check whether the above will fix it or not,

[shinoj Krishnan] “i need to export MOV from FCP (XDCAM HD 422-1080i-50 Mbps) and then transfer this to our production server which is Harris, as harris will not allow native quicktime,”
Bit contradictory. You say that the HARRI not allow native QT, then you say that accept it when the “prepare for streaming” was checked.

(shinoj)i mean when i export the movie it wont accept but only accepts the qt converted with the prepare for streaming checked. may i know what does this setting change on the file?

Anyway, you can try rewraping the XDCAM-422HD as MFX. The HARRIS might like the files.
Here you have a free rewrapper:

(shinoj) thanks rafael for the wrapper, but is this stable for a machine used at critical areas? the calibrated plugin which i tried for mxf import was creating some issues, and then i had to remove it.
