    Peter,
    Regarding reconnecting the media,
where does it allow you to de-select drives in the process????
    Thnx

Apple pretty much wants you to export to Soundtrack and do your mixing
there. A pain but better way to go.

If Apple put an aux send and receive on the master fader, then
you could assign a limiter to the whole project playback, which would
also affect the music and efx tracks.

So, ultimately efx send/receive on each audio track would do the trick
of being able to assign AU (audio unit) limiter to just the dialog track,
    compression, eq, whatever…..

  • Jerry,
Thanks, but that’s mixing down the elements.
He is going to tweak the elements, so if makes a transition longer
the audio cue following it will have to be later.

September 3, 2006 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Getting Audio via Firewire to Broadcast Monitor

    Thnx gents.

Unless I arm the DV deck, there’s no way to see levels of audio going in.
I think the problem is going firewire digital to analog into the monitor
    creates latency.

I’m using my regular speakers using the System settings/Playback Control/
Frame Offset @ 30. It won’t go any higher, but it’s close enough.
For finite tweaking, I can set it back to original settings and dial in
    using the cpu display.

    Much appreciated.

    Paging Dr. Harrington……

    Thanks, Richard.
    I’ll calm down a bit.
I already do the level adjustment, contrast, etc.

    Outsourcing would be ideal.

I am enjoying the learning process.
I have clicked on some of your links but on my Mac the links
were dead. Could have been the server that I’m hooked up with,
    Adelphia. I’ll check again.

    Thanks for that posting.
I wish I could attach a sample here.

Many of the headlines have been captured from microfilm on
old riketty library machines outputting to cruddy printers.

There’s a varied gradient of dark shading, dirt, etc.
Sometimes the surrounding b/g is almost as dark as the headline.

I wish I could just key out the headlines.
I just don’t know how to do that.
I only have a basic knowledge of keying.

Does anyone know of an alternate process????
    Thnx,
    Sherwood

July 16, 2006 at 1:39 am in reply to: Consolidate project to new drive_best way?

MM and double checking each file, tedious.
I guess when I bring up the project with the old HD’s turned off, I can direct to the new path HD.

I could just click and drag all the folders over to the new drive also.

In response to your question, which files didn’t get transferred over?
Random: Audio, Video, transitions, renders, etc.

    Unreliable.

    Well here goes nothing…….

Export the image as instructed in the earlier post, then import
into Genuine Fractals for resolution bump up for print.
