I have both 7 and 10 and have tried both and neither of them can read this file.

Yes. I can play it in VLC.

I used VLC’s media information and it says that the codec is H.264 – MPEG 4 AVC

Which I thought were some of the codecs Perian used. Guess I need to do a bit more digging.

Yes, it is. Otherwise it would also drift on the second machine.

Basically this is the set up we have.
One drive with one audio file and one audio file on it. Take it to the computer without the plug in – works fine.

Take it to the other computer with the plug in (the same two files on the same drive) suddenly there is a MAJOR audio drift with or without the plug in turned on.

I wasn’t able to figure out what it meant, but I did split up the timeline into a couple smaller ones when I knew where I could split it. This helped it work. I’m not sure if there’s a size limit or not as when I was told about this I was told it could take a full day’s worth of footage and mine was only a couple hours.

Sorry I couldn’t help you out more. If anyone else knows what this error means or if there’s a better work around I would still love to hear even though I found my own workaround!

Thanks for all your help everyone! I finally got it to work! Yay! This has been a lesson in why I need to save up for some lessons in this program or at least set aside some time to play around with it more myself!

Oh! Sorry! Way too many 18 hour work days this week. I actually do have that selected as being off, yet still when I import it, the clip says it has an upper field dominance in FCP.

I tried that, but then my colors change as it’s rendered.

You can? Where is that? I didn’t see the choice anywhere.

Well, the sequence is set for Apple Pro Res 422 but I couldn’t find an option for that in AE. So it does require a green preview bar render.

And just for visual these are the rest of the settings:
