    You should export as what ever format you are using in your FCP sequence. If you are using the DV codec in FCP then you should export from mpeg streamclip as DV.

    You should be aware that DVDs use very highly compressed video. If you take that, edit it and then re-compress back to DVD there will be a noticeable loss in quality.

    What codec are you using for your sequence? Are you looking at the computer monitor or (in order to see what is really going on) a television monitor?

    Yes, reducing the opacity to 0% will eliminate the color, which is the button. Your background will be unaffected.

    Yes, set the normal state of the buttons to be completely transparent (0% opacity).
