Any computer with a PCMCIA slot (an older version g4 powerbook or a pc) will do. Better yet, tranfer the footage to a external firewire dirve. Then just make sure that your clients has the correct drivers from panasonic and then download P2viewer here https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/sales_o/p2/p2viewer/index.html

  • Make sure you use the same gamma setting (cinelike D) on both. White balance the cameras the same as well. You may end up having to color correct one camera to match another. Even still, with all that, it will be noticeable unless you shoot SD with the HVX.

Check your settings when you export.
Or Export your movie in Compressor 16:9 mpg2
Or .m2v and .aiff. Then use something like BitViceHelper (free) to mux it back together.

You might also be able to accomplish something similar with a ‘lensbaby’ attached to your camera if you are using a nikon film lens adapter.

click the wireframe button in on the top of the viewer window and select ‘image + wireframe’

    That should do it.

There a couple of effects built in to Soundtrack for something like that. Otherwise, use your channel EQ in FCP.

Log and Transfer or ‘Import Panasonic P2’? Which version of FCP are you using? Are your ‘missing’ clips spanned to another card?
You may also want to try transfering the files to Mac drive and then import them too. I’ve had issues with Fat32 drives and big clips.
You may be able to grab the xmf files from After Effects if you have it as a workaround too.

When you made the ‘freeze frame’ it basically exports whatever is in your viewer window to a flattened still image. You’ll have to make new freeze frames. I know thats not the answer you wanted but maybe somebody has a better idea.
