If it’s set to PROGRESSIVE, then there are no fields. Progressive means a full frame of video, not interlaced. Thus why you have 1080i60, or 1080p60. The “i” is “interlaced, and the “p” is progressive. SO, if you set fields to PROGRESSIVE, that means a full frame of video, where the fields are the same…thus a full frame of video.
UPPER is a setting for interlace fields. LOWER is too, but that’s for SD interlaced. If you need to deliver interlaced, then you should be set to UPPER.

Sorry, what? At what mix?
The OP has 8 separate tracks, each 5.1 track as mono, and Stereo L and R as mono…and wants to export a file with all those as separate tracks. I do this all the time in Avid and Resolve, as it is a required output type. And it LOOKS like it should work given his settings, but it isn’t.
Hmmm…I might have to see what I can figure out…I havne’t had to delivery from PPro in this manner yet.

You can map the same commands in Avid, to the same keys used by FCP. I do this as I’m used to how FCP does this. Open the settings, then open KEYBOARD. Then go to the TOOLS menu and choose COMMAND PALLET. choose GO TO NEXT EVENT and GO TO PREVIOUS EVENT.
Map them to where you want.

The WHOLE POINT of MC First is for people to learn how to use Avid Media Composer. A free way to allow them to learn the system. It lacks a lot of ability to deliver high high quality finished products because it is a learning tool only.
Avid MC First is a “training app.” It’s a way to dip your toes into the water.

This isn’t a “consumer level” Avid version…so they aren’t aiming this at them. They are aiming this at students, or people who want to do simple edits so they can learn the interface without paying money to do so. YES, they have a trial period for Avid MC (30 days)…and that is longer than what Adobe offers (14 days). But this is for those people who might need a little longer than that. But no necessarily for those to create projects clear enough to post.
Yes, I think that’s a little odd, but that is what this is.

It’s not designed for what you are thinking. If you need a free app for this stuff, you can use Resolve. Or if you work a lot with H.264/MP4…use Premiere. MC First is a crippled trainer.

What sort of hard drive is this stored on? ProRes 4K 60p…that’ll require a PRETTY fast drive setup with fast connection to deal with. Might be needing at least a 2 drive RAID connected via thunderbolt 2 or 3.

Want simple and easy…and affordable? Look at Endcrawl.com. I did rolling credits a few times with AE and photoshop and did all sorts of trickery to get things right. Endcrawl was used on the last thing I did and boy, did that save headaches.
