Are you viewing this with an NTSC monitor, or judging only by the computer monitor?
You cannot judge the quality of the image with the computer monitor. It lowers the resolution to allow for realtime playback.

Sorry, but when someone comes along asking for a filter or plugin that automatically does the work for you, that tends to illicit a certain response from professionals editors. Filters that “automatically” add markers or cuts on the beat of the music that is added, filters that “automatically” cut out all the bad parts…and breaks the footage up into only the clips you want. And now your request.
There are no such filters. This is what is called editing, and editing is looking at your footage to find what you want and don’t want, and assembling it into a coherent, and one would hope artisitic, manner.

At the current time there is no Quicktime solution. Either use a DV deck with the TC display turned on and dub (a very common practice) or slap TC on the ckip, render and output.
OR….
If you feel the solution is there, then write the code for quicktime and then market it.

Not that I can see. Just reconnect the media and you are good to go.
Unless they happen to have media (pictures, music) stored somewhere else, or renders. That happens sometimes.

Final Cut Express is a “lite” version of FCP. It lacks several key features such as Log and Capture. You only have the ability to CAPTURE NOW.
What is the format of the drive you are capturing to? It must be Mac OS extended…and it must be a firewire drive.
Oh, and do you have Norton and Virex installed?

I too have two Dell 2405 monitors…side by side. DO you find that the color/brightness of them just don’t quite match? I have to have one connected via an ADC/DVI converter, and I think that is changing the signal somewhat. I have matching settings in the DISPLAYS calibration I performed.
