  • It is possible that the issue you are experiencing with Avid Media Composer v7.02.1771 is related to permissions. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    • Check the permissions on the folders and files that you are trying to access in Avid Media Composer. Make sure that the permissions are set correctly and that you have the necessary permissions to access and modify the files.
    • Try running Avid Media Composer as an administrator. Right-click on the Avid Media Composer shortcut and select “Run as administrator”. This will give Avid Media Composer elevated privileges and may resolve any permission issues.
    • Make sure that your anti-virus software is not blocking Avid Media Composer from accessing the necessary files and folders. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software and see if the issue persists.
    • Check the disk space on your system drive and the drive where your Avid Media Composer project files are stored. If the drive is full, you may not be able to create new files or render.
    • Try resetting the Avid Media Composer settings to their default values. To do this, go to the “Settings” tab in Avid Media Composer and click on “General”. Then click on “Reset All Settings”.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Avid technical support for further assistance

  • Here are a few suggestions you can try:

1.Check that the Isilon drive is mounted correctly. You can try unmounting and remounting the drive to see if that resolves the issue.
2.Check the permissions of the specific folder where the media files are located. Even if you have given full read/write permissions to the drive and its folders, it’s possible that the specific folder where the media files are located may not have the appropriate permissions.
3.Try consolidating or transcoding the media files from a different location, such as a local drive, to see if the issue is specific to the Isilon drive.
4.Check if there are any restrictions or limitations on the Isilon drive that could be preventing Avid Media Composer from accessing it. For example, there may be a limit on the number of concurrent connections or the amount of data that can be transferred at a time.

Try updating Avid Media Composer to the latest version, as there may be bug fixes or improvements that address this issue.

  • If the issue is isolated to Avid, you could try the following troubleshooting steps:

1.Check if there are any updates available for Avid and update the software if necessary.
2.Check if there are any plugins or third-party software installed in Avid that could be causing the issue. You could try disabling any plugins and see if the issue persists.
3.Check if the export settings for the graphic files are correct. Make sure that the export format is compatible with your system and that the export settings are configured correctly.
4.Try exporting the graphic files to a different location on your system or an external hard drive to see if the issue is related to the destination folder.
5.If none of the above troubleshooting steps work, you could try reinstalling Avid to see if it resolves the issue.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

The error message “Range specified for Dup is outside range of component” usually indicates that there is a discrepancy between the length of the media and the metadata in the Avid project database. This can occur when there are multiple codecs and frame rates within the same sequence, as you have mentioned.

    • One solution you could try is to first consolidate your sequence to a new drive with the “Consolidate/Transcode” tool in Avid. This will create new media files in your desired codec and frame rate for all the clips in your sequence, even if they are already in your desired codec. Make sure to select the option to consolidate all tracks in the sequence.
    • After consolidating, create a new sequence and copy/paste the consolidated sequence into the new one. Then, try transcoding the new sequence to your desired codec again.
    • If you still encounter the error message, it may be necessary to isolate the specific clips causing the issue and manually transcode them separately before incorporating them back into your larger sequence.

I hope this helps resolve your issue
