July 18, 2007 at 3:53 am in reply to: 3rd party Roto plugin for After Effects? I have 20 seconds to roto, ouch!Imagineer Systems is offering a deal on Mocha or Motor as well as Mokey and Monet now. Go to the Shake forum and read about it there.
I bought Motor when Toolfarm had the 50% off sale on Motor and I LOVE IT! I rotoscope a lot and this has been a tremendous timesaver. If you roto frequently then it is a great investment. I think Mocha is being offered for $299.00 right now and it is normally something like $2999.00. HUGE SALE!!!

If you are on an Intel Mac then you need to control click on your AE application file and selected “Get Info.” There will be a little box that says “Rosetta.” Check it and your application will run in simulation mode. It is pretty stable, considerably slower but it will allow you to see and use all of your plug-ins until they are updated by the manufacturer.

There is a caveat here though… It depends on your OS. I currently have both on my Intel Mac and I am keeping 7.0 on my machine until Trapcode, Digital Anarchy and Knoll Lens Flare Pro have updated their respective plugs for CS3. If you are on a Mac and using some plugs then you will have to run in Rosetta until they are updated. Many are not working on CS3 yet.
We create a weekly television show that uses Shine (but not in the over used, over played way 🙂 ) so we have to keep running in Rosetta until Peder updates it (I think I read that I have to wait two more weeks).
My $.03 – Keep the change.

We have ordered a card and hopefully this will remedy the situation. Thanks for your help.

I often use the second hard drive for immediate capturing and then transfer to a file system via our network once the drive get over half full. I have two 750 g/b hard drives on the computer.

You both were exactly right! I was previewing out of my Decklink card and was noticing some interlace/stairstep issues. Once I finally composited everything with a motion graphic background and other stuff, I rendered it out, threw it in FCP and…VOILA! Everything looks normal and there are no worries. Thanks for putting my concerns to rest. I greatly appreciate your time with this.

Yeah, I did that this morning with the exact same result. That’s more reason why I am frustrated.

Thanks for the reply debe. I tried your suggestion and nothing changed. Everything plays fine on my canvas and cinema display but still just appears as frames in the external monitors either firewire or decklink.

Thanks for the reply. But there is nothing overlapping or obscuring the viewer or canvas. I have the image size set to 100% and “Sync Off” is selected. That’s why this is so frustrating to me since nothing has changed in my external configurations recently.
