    Thanks Alan.

Maybe Discreet will get their act together and update this since there have been some great particles created since V2. I’ll keep watching.

    Yeah,

I forgot to merge the layers and the gradient was not coming over into AE. I had not done this before and should have read a little further in Richard Harrington’s book about flattening layers. That did the trick. I have since completed this three more times without any issues. Also, I think I made the assumption there would be a better, easier, more fluid integration b/n Photoshop and AE. But, there I go thinking again….

I got some info from the man himself (Richard Harrington). And, yes, I forgot to rasterize/flatten. Everything worked fine then. Thanks for the replies. I LOVE THE COW!

    Thanks Richard.

I will give it a try later. I assumed it prepped the .PSD for exporting into AE. Sorry for making that assumption. I do thoroughly enjoy the book. Thanks for the clarification.

I have found that rendering a .PNG works best in Vegas. I had similar issues but was able to pull something off successfully with a .PNG.

    My two cents…

  • Thanks for the information guys. This is the kind of stuff I needed to know. I just wanted to make certain I was capturing and recording the best possible way. Once I make the move to digibeta then I will look at the decklink stuff again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

June 2, 2005 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Sonic ReelDVD or DVDA3

I should have been a little more clear about my concerns or request. I am looking to create an interactive DVD like the old game Dragon’s Lair where the person watching can affect the outcome of what is being watched, I want multple audio and video tracks and to see what I have created in a schematic view. I don’t have a problem thinking outside of the box to create something visually stimulating but I was wondering what DVD Authoring Software will give me the most flexibility. Thanks for your help.

May 30, 2005 at 3:15 am in reply to: Need Help Turning 2d into 3d…

Thanks for the reply. I thought this would be too much outside of AE 6.5 and C4. I tried to extrude in Illustrator, duplicate the layers, change perspective and go from there. THAT TOOK FOREVER… I believe creating it first in 3d is best. I appreciate your help.

    Don,

I tried what you stated and… WOW! What a difference! This is exactly the problem I was having and this fixed it. Thank you for the advice. I have set this as my CP now and will use this from now on. I wish I would have known this prior to shooting but better late than never. This is the kind of stuff you don’t find in the manuals. Take care.
