    Hi,

I have been using FCP for some time now and have never had a problem with RT viewing on my external monitors. However, recently I just get still images on my Sony and JVC broadcast monitors when I playback. I can see everything in RT in the viewer but just frames on the monitors. I have gone over the settings many, many, many times and yet nothing has changed. Am I missing something? Here are my current settings…

    Viewing ALL FRAMES
Playback Setting – Blackmagic Decklink SP 8 bit, RT – Safe, Video Quality – Dynamic, Frame Rate – Dynamic.

All of my video output settings are set this way. This is the case regardless of using the Decklink card or firewire. Any thoughts?

Is part of your canvas widow obscured in any way? For example are you slighly zoomed in where just even a pixel of the image isn’t visible?

Thanks for the reply. But there is nothing overlapping or obscuring the viewer or canvas. I have the image size set to 100% and “Sync Off” is selected. That’s why this is so frustrating to me since nothing has changed in my external configurations recently.

Instead of having the Canvas set to 100%, try “Fit to Window”.

Thanks for the reply debe. I tried your suggestion and nothing changed. Everything plays fine on my canvas and cinema display but still just appears as frames in the external monitors either firewire or decklink.

How about just a good ol’ fashioned restart?

Yeah, I did that this morning with the exact same result. That’s more reason why I am frustrated.

Dangit! Sorry adguy! I was hoping for the easy answer for you!

Other than a total shutdown and power off, wait at least 3 minutes and power back up, I’m outta ideas.

And something tells me you may have already gone down that road…

Is your timeline set to 29.97 or does the Blackmagic card have the ability to add pull downs if your at 23.98
