Thanks Grant. but how do I take my clip from FCP and import into AE. I know there is a way without exporting out as a QT.mov
You used to (1999) be able to export the clip as some FCP file, import into AE render FX and it would be already rendered in FCP.

I think I am maybe epxlaining wrong. (I usually do LOL). I know you can export from FCP to a MOV file and import. But I know there is a way around this. FCP can create file or something from a clip and import right in AE then add FX, render and it should be already taken care of in the FCP timeline. -
FCP can open Express projects, most of the time.
It does not work the other way.
So you mean Express won’t open any FCP projects period?

Simply import? I remember having to export or save the file as a certain type and then importing that into AE is that right?
What do I save the clip as format or do I have to save it as a QT movie?

Isn’t the 1920x 1080 size better then the 1440×1080?
For viewing on HD TVs, and even on the web (I know it is compressed). why do the larger more expensive cameras only come at 1140×1080 while the smaller cameras come at 1920×1080?

That AVCHD works seamlessly form the Canon in the example. So I don’t understand all the issues with AVCHD.
The Canon XH A1 is affordable. Uses tape but shoot only at 1440×1080. But the cheaper Canons shoot VIXIA HF S100 or the VIXIA HF S10 shoot at 1920 x 1080.
Is there a camera that is similar to the Canon XH A1 price range that shoots in AVCHD in full HD 1920 x 1080?

One more question regarding the Panasonic format. Is AVC-Intra and DVCPRO HD the same or different. Do they both require rendering when placing into FCP?

thanks by how much gamma is average? I just want it to look normal on most PCs since that is the most used platform.
