Do you have any idea how many names are on that list? Have you heard the story of a lady named Cathy Stevens? She was held up at an airport because singer/songwriter (and Muslim convert) Cat Stevens is on the list.

Blackmagic software comes with 1080PsF Easy Setups for all codecs. I’m looking at them right now. “Blackmagic HDTV 1080PsF 23.98 – Apple ProRes (HQ)” – that’s the one you should use.

Like Shane said use Cinema Tools. Conform it to 23.98, and edit in a 23.98 sequence. That’s the best method by far.

Been using a Kensington trackball for over 10 years now. I put in a solid effort to switch to a Wacom but found myself still using the trackball. If I did more graphics work (keyframing, rotoscoping, etc.) then it might be different story.

You’re not supposed to put MP3s in Final Cut. And while PSD files are supposed to work, it’s better practice to convert it to a PNG whenever possible.
First trash your render files and make sure FCP is closed. Convert your MP3s to AIFFs, convert the PSDs to PNG files. Rename or move the original media files so that they will be offline media when you open your project. Manually reconnect to the respective AIFF and PNG files and you should be okay.

YOU CAN READ AND WRITE NTFS ON A FRICKIN MAC NOW!!! NOT ONE BUT TWO OPTIONS. Paragon is one. NTFS-3G is the other. THEY WORK. I’ve been using the latter for a while now to access my boot camp drive.

So I guess they have gone up. My understanding a few years ago was that reality editors for basic cable shows were getting paid something like $60k a year, and they’d work in cubicles with headphones.
