I had the issue w/ doing an insert edit using 10-bit NTSC. It was inserting green flashes as the first and last frame.
I’ll tell you everything I can. I have a DL HD Plus, Dual 2.5ghz, stock ATI 9600, two Firmtek SATA external 4-port cards, 2GB RAM. Decklink is in Slot 4.
OSX 10.4.2 w/ FCP 5.02 – I can list the software installed. I have the entire FCP Studio suite w/ latest updates. Photoshop CS1, Illustrator CS1, Microsoft Office 2004, Toast 6, Multibridge Utility, PocketMac (to sync my cell phone), Kennsington Mouseworks, Macally ikey, Fetch, Firefox… that’s about it.
Final Cut plugins are… Boris Calligraphy, DVMattePro, Joe’s Filters, Natress’ Plugins, Stib’s Plugins.
I also have the SheerVideo lossless codecs installed.

Why are these botched drivers still on the website after 12 hours? 5.0 should go back up immediately. I tried 5.01 for about two minutes and had a serious problem.
I did a simple insert edit to tape from a 10-bit sequence. It inserted a green flash at the in point and the out point. I immediately came here, saw these were screwed up, reverted to 5.0, and then tried it again. It worked fine.

The important thing is that with the Multibridge, you have up to 12 digital audio outputs. So where you go from there is up to you. There are countless ways to do it. If you want the dirt cheap example, here ya go… buy a DB25 to XLR breakout cable. Get an AES to SPDIF adapter (XLR to RCA). Buy three consumer stereo amplifiers w/ SPDIF inputs. Send two channels to each one. Plug two speakers into each one. Voila.

No, you won’t. The Dell is actually a much better monitor. I wish I had gotten it. My 23″ Cinema Display has lines burned in on it, and whites and greys have a pinkish tint to them.

Most people monitor diretly from the BM card. They have an SDI equipped broadcast monitor. Or you can get the Decklink HD Pro which has component outputs built in. Myself personally, I have a patchbay so I can use the MB for monitoring, or for digitizing analog stuff.
But you’re right, you shouldn’t have to do that. It should at least mirror the signal across all of the outputs.

Ok, I re-read your post carefully. As a Multibridge owner I found your setup very interesting.
Are you sure you’re really looping through? As far as I know, the Multibridge only has one A/V input working at a time – not two. Even with the first software version, you pick either analog input or digital input. You could never have both at the same time, right?
What I think is happening is that with your old driver, you’re actually monitoring what the Multibridge is seeing – not what the Mac is seeing. It’s inputting via component, and it’s mirroring that signal on both the SDI outputs and the analog output. So it’s acting like a splitter. Your looped SDI signal is just hitting a dead-end and actually doing nothing. I’m really just speculating, but honestly, how could you possibly tell the difference? The end result would be the same thing. I guess you could check it. If you disconnect the looped SDI signal and no longer get analog ouput, then I’m completely wrong and I apologize.
Either way, I definately see what the problem is. My guess is that with the updates, they restricted the MB to “One Output Per Input” so that the lanugage in the Multibridge Utility is less confusing. I really don’t see any reason for them to do this either.

Never mind. I think I misunderstood your post. So you are intentionally staying with 1.2 because it allows loop-through. I understand.
