It’s not that it becomes indistinguishable, it’s that the compressor generally throws away one of the fields since it’s going to be half-size or less anyways.

There are lots of posts here on the subject. I personally use Cinema Tools. Again, you not only need to identify the AA frame, but you need to know and understand what that even means. I find Apple’s manuals to be surprisingly very descriptive on things like this.

Aside from reading manuals, that is exactly how I know the things I know. One can either make time and show desire to learn, or they can hire someone else to do it.

Not so sure about that. I’ve read about people who are developing HDR monitors. While the human eye definitely can’t detect 0-1024 black to white simultaneously, I think within a limited range, like a low-light environment after your eyes adjust, you can see shadow detail beyond what 10-bit is capable of. I mean, until one can’t distinguish video from looking out a window…

4. Film: 24 frames per second, progressive”Both NTSC and 1080i (that was shot on video cameras – not film or 24p video) have a temporal rate of 59.94 (same as 60p). So when converting 720p60 to NTSC, you are not really cutting the frame-rate in half, so to speak. The temporal rate remains exactly the same. I’m guessing not understanding that is root of your confusion and this topic.

It’s 8-bit RGB, and it’s very old. It goes back to an age called the early 1990s when I believe YUV video didn’t even exist in a software-only video player. “None” is also a legacy AVI codec.
Why the fascination? Use the Apple Uncompressed codecs for YUV video. Use the AJA or Blackmagic Uncompressed codec for 10-bit RGB.
