    Thanks Jerry.

For future reference, it’s the ‘cmd’ key and drag, not the ‘option’ key.

My understanding is that a 20″ production monitor should not be on a workstation desk — it needs to be placed farther back for proper viewing.

For a desk, a 14″ production monitor is the correct size…so this would be a consideration.

Also, Sony has a line of LCD production monitors (LMD-) which they claim are replacement for their CRT production monitor line.

    Is this still controversial?

    Thanks Martin.

By the way, very tasteful product site.

I see, interesting. I guess there is going to be some sort of limitation at 20% of the cost.

Also, you are saying that the control surface can be used with FCP so that would mean that a control surface can be used with 3 of the 4 FCS applications? (i.e. everything except DVDSP).

Specialcase, good to know you like it.

I read something about how these have latch detection, but not touch detection. Do you know what they are referring to?

    Specialcase,

I just tried your suggestion and I still get rotation from the center of the graphic.
I guess I’m not understanding, or is the objective different?

This is a workaround solution for the anchor point issue.

As an example, to create an anchor point for the Basic 3d filter on the left side of a graphic, do the following:

    1. Create a square.
    2. duplicate the square (both are on same layer).
    3. Set X scale on the duplicate to 200%.
    4. Make sure the 100% graphic is above the 200% graphic on the layer.
    5. Snap the original square (using dynamic guides) to the right half of the 200% graphic.
    6. Turn off visibility of the 200% graphic.
    7. Drop the Basic 3d filter on the parent layer (not on either graphic).
    8. Animate Y Rotation of the Basic 3d filter to make your square spin around like a flag on a pole.

  • There’s an easier way to do this in Motion which is equivalent to using an ‘*’ between role and name in FCP and scrolling to create a gutter.

If I find it online again, I’ll post it here.
