Thank you so much for the reply back! It worked exactly as how you described. Here’s the result if you wanted to see:

Hi Everyone,
I am not sure of the status on this issue for you all, as I just stumbled upon this thread. I have been encountering a random flickering issue when playing back clips dropped into my timeline. There are no effects on any of the clips. Just a standard clip with playback that intermittently will begin flickering when I attempt to playback.
My workaround has been simply saving and closing out PP CC and relaunching the project. The issue has definitely gotten worse over the last several weeks.
I’m working on a Macbook Pro w/ CUDA enabled. I did some digging around on CUDA for my model year of MBP, and found out that there is documented issue with the vid card that Apple is aware of and advises that if your machine falls into their range, to take it into the Genius Bar so they can run a test on it to determine if it’s the issue, at which they will send out the machine for repair. (I’m sorry I can’t find the link I came across that brought me to this conclusion). Unfortunately my passed the test, but there is definitely something wrong (thank goodness I have Apple Care until October!). However, because I’m on a huge doc series through the end of September, and since this is my only machine to work on at this time, I have to hold of sending out for repair for a bit until I can work ahead enough to go without my MBP for about a week.
Anyway, if you have a MBP, you may want to look into what year it is an see if you qualify for the Apple repair on it. I just bough Sapphire plugins and can’t even use them because the CUDA is jacked up and won’t be able to use them until I get the issue resolved. Good thing I”m not cutting any promos right now, ha ha ha.
I hope this helps.
Cheers!

Wow, I just read through the entire discussion thread and really picked up a lot of good information. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to pick up some of these programming books if I want to up my game in After Effects.
I am still trying to determine if a 3rd party tracker plugin is the way to go. Does anyone have experience working with PFTrack? I’ve never heard of it.

Thank you gain for the insight.
Turns out the problem was in fact the workstation that the project was created on was not fully up to date. Once I updated the Premiere Pro app the reopened the project on the original workstation, it prompted to re-save the file and then I transferred it to my laptop and it opened up fine with all media and seqs showing.
Thank you again!

January 15, 2015 at 5:43 pm in reply to: Project file (CC 2014) from on machine does not open properly on another machineWell dang, no dice.
1. I couldn’t even locate the Media Cache Files folder in the location that it says it should be located.
2. I cleaned the database but again like the Cache file folder, I could not locate it where it should be located in the finder.
3. I did trash the preferences. I created the new project and tried to import the original project but with the same result as before.
I guess I’ll have to go to the office and work from there. Still open to suggestions if you have any. I’ll run a couple tests when I get back to the office as well. I was trying to avoid the 45 minute commute. bummer.

Thanks James for the info! Much like you, I just bypassed the standard utility and transcoded my files to the DNxHD wrapper. I’m wondering if I should try the Cineform and see if there is an improvement. I also think that I need to check the 30P setting, so thanks for posting that info.
I’m working with a company where I am setting up their workflow for them, do you have any suggestions to codec settings for final exports? I’m using h.264 now because some of the files have to be uploaded to a service that has a 250mb max, what do you use?
Great info!

Brian,
Thanks for the info! It has helped. This is where I am at now: screenshot2014-02-13at12.05.15pm.png
I am now thinking that I need to go back into AI and re-work with the logo file and adjust some of the points etc. I didn’t create the logo plus I am not very savvy with AI. It appears that when imported into C4D, some of the splines (i think this is what they are referred to) not where they should be. Correct me if I am wrong but I would need to correct that issue in AI with the logo file?
Anyway, if you have any tips to help with this or know of a good vid tut that covers it, it will be graciously accepted. I look forward to your thoughts!

Tim,
Thanks for posting the link to those C4D tutorials! They have helped me out quite a bit in working through this new interface. What I am now having problems with is the logo’s spline. I’m curious about a couple of other things:
1. The logo (when you open it in AI or PS) has color. Does that color information carry into C4D?
2. If you notice in the screen shot attached, the outer spline is a little messed up. Is there a way to fix that? Will that affect the final look of the logo when converted into a 3D logo?

Dealing with a novice in working with 3D…editor by trade and working to become more familiar with this side of the creation process. I appreciate any insight.

I tried to paste a screen shot of what happens to my logo that is different to the logo I see on the all the tutorials out there. Perhaps a setting that I am not adjusting correctly?
