    Thanks for your reply.

I checked that everything was set to 3D – it was. I have stripped back the final composition to its smallest component and I think I have discovered the problem – it’s the CC page turn.

For some reason it is corrupting the nested comp. Even if it is applied but switched off the 3D move does not show. The Page turn effect has to be removed for the camera move to be seen.

This is, of course, a disaster. I can make the move work by not collapsing the page turn layer, but then the pages that a being turned are cropped as they fly off.

    Any ideas?

April 27, 2007 at 12:59 am in reply to: import a 3ds object into ProAnimator as single item

This is a problem to me too. I want to put some furniture in a virtual picture gallery. The AE camera flies around so I got hold of some *.3ds models. Unfortunately they are very different sized images. When I try to scale the objects in Pro Invigorator (in Object stats) the elements resize out of alignment.

I have tried using tracking layers to position my objects but it takes ages to get one right and when I try to copy and replace a layer, the positioning of the object is totally different.

Can anyone offer some advice as to the best way of using 3ds models through Pro Invigorator while using After Effects own camera? Is there a clever way of pre-comping that I can’t work out?

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply boogiesan.

Duplicating the composition within another is what I want to do, but the lights just don’t work when I do this. I will investigate further.

Yes. I tried it collapsed and non collapsed – same result.

    Thanks for the response.

There had to be a simple solution of course. I had tried this with no success, but I had forgotten to switch on the collapse transformations button on the pre-comp. I won’t say it looks great (I was doing this on an Abekas Genesis in the 80’s) but it does what the client asked for!

Thanks for a quick and easy solution.

Hi Danny. Wanted to know if you worked this problem out as I am experiencing identical problems, although I am working on a PC.

I wrapped a targa round an Invigorator sphere and when I try to render it out I can only get 13 frames done before I get the same failure notice (25::60)you had. When I exit the programme I get the memory inefficiency error message (26::248).

I am using Invigorator Pro 4.07 (haven’t worked out how to upgrade) so did an upgrade to V4.09 solve your problem?

    My video card is a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 pro so I can’t believe that’s a problem.

I have tried having OpenGL on and off with no difference.

    Any suggestions welcomed.

    Scott
