OK. No bays available for another internal. Can I back up the current Mac system HD to an external then do a clean install. Never done this wipe out thing. Do you start by reformatting the system drive? If so, I have the Snow Leopard disc and I assume it should install on a clean drive?

Sorry, I do it all here and I am the last in line on Mac “in’s and out’s”. Or computers for that matter.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Having similar issues and yes I upgraded over the old version. Is there a recommended method to this? I want to make sure FCP is cleaned off. How will the upgrade disc see the old version? Don’t you have to have the old version resident on the system to upgrade? And is there an efficient method of saving all your plug-ins so I don’t loose all that material mostly which have been downloaded?

    Thanks,

Literally “No Memory”. First upgraded to FCP7 on Leopard, then recently upgraded to Snow. I did notice I had created my sequence as “uncompressed 8 bit” in HD. I usually work in the codec shot (XDCAM-HD). Not sure how I got that setting. I wonder if the uncompressed thing is stressing the system out?

In regard to Photomotion Producer, how can you edit a PM project once created? I want to get back in, delete, add, etc.

    Thanks,

Yes, it is shot 24p. In the previous post, 24pA was mentioned. I just don’t think my camera has the capability of shooting 23.98p with a 2-3 pull down and recording to disc 29.97 all in camera.

Not sure I understand “shoot 24p over 60i”. The footage is 23.98p in HD. Are you talking about camera settings? Not sure my XDCAM355 has that option.

If you do not have a Kona card or the like which could crop if for you and output to tape, try exporting to Compressor and create a 4×3 clip of the entire promo using uncompressed settings. Then bring the new clip back into a 4×3 timeline in FCP and then print to tape.

Got it. By the way, who sells the best templates for Motion both HD and SD?

    Thanks again,

Ok. Very new to Motion. Where within Motion do I set this points? I can’t seem to find the player/viewer where I can input the in and out.
