Upgraded to Snow Leopard and upgraded to FCPS 7. Now getting “No memory” error messages which I have never seen ever. Memory is memory and not HD space, correct?

Do you need to assign memory allotment or the like? Something has changed but not a clue what.

    Any ideas?

What is the actual error message? Also how did you go about upgrading? Was it just over the old OS & FCS or a clean install as recommended here?

Literally “No Memory”. First upgraded to FCP7 on Leopard, then recently upgraded to Snow. I did notice I had created my sequence as “uncompressed 8 bit” in HD. I usually work in the codec shot (XDCAM-HD). Not sure how I got that setting. I wonder if the uncompressed thing is stressing the system out?

That is less stress on the CPU but more on the drive speed. Don’t know what that error message means but a search at the apple site might give you a clue.

I am guessing you have done the upgrades of OS and FCS over the older versions which is a recipe for problems and this may be one of them. Have a search of this forum for the wise heads who have advice for installing an OS and new FCS version to minimise potential problems.

this usually happens (to me at least) when I’m using still images that are too big. anything over, say 4000 pixels and FCP gives up. if you’re using images, resize
