Matt
Are you trying to record video out from the camera right to a DVD recorder?
Give me a call or email if you can’t find the #, I have this cam and a BR-50 deck. I’m sure I can help you out. probably just the switch settings. -
I don’t think 3 months is out of line for a 90 minute feature.
As everyone said, there are so many variables, but heres an example.
Did a low budget western this summer, about the same length. Source was 42 HDV (miniDV) tapes, that were A-B, so 21 per camera. No logging notes, and had to work from a script with no shooting notes. Logging took a month alone. Two months to get a rough cut, and an editors cut, with some preliminary CC work, and mix with SFX/music. This was with two of us ‘tag-teaming’ the project on two systems.
Long story short, this project had a lot of problems, not logged, missing footage, continuity, picture and sound problems, but shows that 3 months can get used up pretty quick. -
Good to know info.
Got to say that no firewire, would translate to won’t play for a lot of folks. -
[walter biscardi] “Any external monitor is better than the Viewer Canvas in FCP. We’ve been saying for years on this forum to never trust the Viewer / Canvas. Heck I don’t ever trust the After Effects composition screen either, I only go by the external video output via the AJA Kona boards.”
Yes, but only if it’s properly set up. I have seen plenty of big dollar external, broadcast monitors that were calibrated wrong, or that had drifted without the operator noticing.
Scopes are less prone to operator ‘influences’, and are unaffected by ‘eye fatigue’, and don’t drift. And if your show gets rejected by QC, it because of what they saw on the scope.
I would trust the internal FCP scopes and Canvas, more than an uncalibrated external monitor, given those two choices.
Just my unwanted 2 cents worth. -
It’s in the manual, if you look.
And it’s only been covered a hundred times B4.
Did you try doing a search???? -
Reminds me of an old joke:
Guy walks into a doctors office and says “It hurts when I put my arm over my head”.
And the doctor says “So keep your hands down”.Guy walks into the Cows and says “FCP runs slow when I run Safari”
And the doctor says…… -
Could use more info.
What machine do you have, what is it you want to back up…… -
I have several view masters. If you can’t find it, let me know, I can help you out.
