I recently made a data DVD of my iTunes music folders on my PowerMac running 10.4.1 and all of the directories and song files showed up when I loaded the DVD into my PC laptop.

What kind of files are you putting on the data DVD?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but Delicious Monster has a product called Delicious Library. The program creates an inventory of your CD’s, DVD’s, and games by simply typing in the UPC or scanning the UPC via a bar code reader. The only downside is that the software only looks at the Amazon.com database to retrieve results. You can download the software for free and use it to enter 25 items. In order to enter more than 25 items you need to buy a license for $39.95.

There is a preferences setting which limits the preview to the FPS setting you have set up for your project. I can’t recall exactly where in prefrences this is at but if you go to the Prefrences menu option (cmd-,) you should be able to find it.

Have you tried booting from your start up DVD? If you boot from the original start up DVD there is a Disk Utility option that might be able to repair the disk and/or permissions. May or may not solve your problem but worth a try.

This may or may not help, but when you are at the beginning of your timeline and press the record button, click on your object and wiggle it’s position. What I mean by wiggle is move it, then move it right back to where it was. Motion should create a keyframe even though nothing was changed.
