Hi John,
Thanks for the clarification here, and yes I believe this is the issue.
In your reference to two IP addresses would this mean having a local IP and a Public IP?
I am finding it quite difficult to get both local and external connections through to the machine as I cannot test if this is because the server is not running or if it is a network issue.
Any further advice here is appreciated.

I have used Softron’s movie recorder with live editing and it is an excellent product that plays well with most NLE’s. They also have very fast support. How exactly are you trying to use them together? What level of integration?
If it’s simply drag and drop from CatDV to the Scheduler then this should work fine.

New in Server 6.8 https://www.squarebox.com/server68-manual-new-features/
CatDV Server 6.8 has the following new features:
Embedded Tomcat web server for use by Web Client, Live HTML Publisher, Adobe Premiere Plug-In Panel and by new REST web services API. Having an embedded server greatly simplifies installation as it is no longer necessary to download and install Tomcat separately.
Inclusion of sample customisable web applications using the new REST API. These require a Web Client license so you can either use the built-in web application or develop your own custom interface. Note that any license restriction on number of concurrent sessions apply to your web apps also, you are not permitted to “multiplex” connections so that multiple clients can connect at the same time sharing a single web session or connection to the database.
Changes to the control panel to support the embedded web server
Beta support for an embedded Java database server “H2″. This is a high performance, lightweight database which doesn’t require installation or a separate server but does not provide the administration tools and robustness of MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. The release notes and installation guide are now available online in web form. Documentation on the Web Client and the older Live HTML Publisher components are now provided separately.

Which browser are you using? Safari seems to have issues. Test with firefox.
There are a lot more features for the web client in version 6.8.

It’s the older Safari I believe 6.0.4. Seems others have had issues with certain browsers too, as usual in web dev..
On a side note, is there a player that will display timecode track?

Hi Tim,
I have a feeling that it is a corrupted download of the image. Unfortunately I cannot download a new one as the Squarebox downloads page is currently down:
https://www.squarebox.com/download/
I managed to find an old 6.7 install and that worked. I then found a 6.8.0 and that also worked so I believe it is a problem with my 6.8.1 dmg. Which is strange, as I have used this image before from another drive.
Thanks for the advice anyhow. I will report back if I find the error.
