May 31, 2011 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Audio and Video out of sync

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply.

I noticed a msg on 2nd attempt when capturing saying that the audio sample rate captured does not match that on my source tape. I went into my audio settings on my camcorder and all I can see is that it says audio is 12 bit. FCP does not appear to let you change the preset to 12 bit as all options given are 16 bit presets.

Im not sure what transfer mode I used, just plugged the camcorder in and captured video. Sorry but not really savvy on video editing as very new to it.

On the camera preview everything is in sync. Any ideas?

    Thanks again for your time

    Thanks for your help Michael,
Sorry for all the questions but new to this. I take it I export as quicktime movie first and then bring into compressor and then export from there?
Or do I export using compressor directly from FCP?
Any advice on what codec to use would be greatly appreciated too.
    Thanks for your time

    Hi Michael.

I am using dv footage shot on a sony Z1 that I captured from my own camcorder straight into Final Cut Pro.

    Sequence settings are –

    Frame Size – 720 x 576 – Aspect Ratio CCIR 601/DV PAL (5:4
Pixel Aspect Ratio PAL CCIR 601 (720×576) Anamorphic 16:9 (this box is checked)
    Field Dominance: Lower (Even)
    Editing Timebase:25

    Quicktime Video Settings
    Compressor: DV PAL
    Quality – 100%

    Audio Settings
    Rate: 48KHZ
    Depth: 16-Bit
    Config: Channel Grouped

One other question, What is compressor? Does this come with FCP?

    Many thanks

Thanks for the msg Craig. I have played around with the 3 way colour correction in FCP. Not sure if this is what you were suggesting but it seems to have done the trick! Pls let me know if you think there is a better way.

    Thanks Scott

    Hi,
Thanks for the message. I have tried this but still no luck. I found a tutorial that explained how to do it with video footage (which worked fine) and applied the same technique to the image file but still shows the background that i’d taken out. Do you think it Is to do with the way I have exported the image from photoshop? I saved the image as png interlaced which I thought would do the trick?

    Cheers

    Hi Brian,
Thanks for the message. Can you explain how this is done in? Please forgive me as I’m very new to this 3d stuff and my technical knowledge is very limited!

    Many thanks
