    Hi,

I am very new to FCP so I may just being a bit stupid here. I have imported my footage from mini dv camcorder which was filmed wide screen yet the footage has been pinched and distorted, basically looks like the wrong ratio is set. Should FCP automatically re set to correct ratio? If not how do i change it to show the correct aspect ratio it was filmed in?

    thanks

    Scott

With your sequence open go to Sequence Menu > Settings and check the Anamorphic 16:9 box. Hopefully, that will fix it.

    Scott,
In the sequence settings, in the general tab, make sure that the Anamorphic 16:9 box is checked.

This should fix the problem for you.

    Hope this helps
